At Scruffy Pup parlour we prioritise the health and welfare of all our clients, to avoid cross contamination between clients we have a specific policy regarding fleas.

If fleas are detected during your dogs groom, their service will be stopped at the earliest opportunity and you will be called for collection. This will incur a £15 cleaning fee in addition to the cost of any completed services and we will not be able to rebook your dog until they have been fully treated and are clear of fleas.

If your dog has fleas on 3 consecutive occasions or 3 times within 12 months, we may refuse service in order to ensure the protection of other clients in our care.

While we take every precaution possible to ensure the comfort of all dogs in our care, certain complications may arise while grooming matted dogs, such as skin nicks or irritations.

It is your responsibility to ensure your dog is well maintained between grooms and on a schedule that suits them to avoid these risks.

Major matting requiring a pre-bath clip off will incur an additional fee of £10.

While we will always strive to keep your dogs groom looking as good as possible, if the matting is too severe we will prioritise the welfare of your dog over their looks.

If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may be cancelled and rescheduled and we may charge up to 25% of the missed service cost. This is to ensure the smooth running of the salon and to avoid impacting other clients appointments throughout the day.

We will always contact you with plenty of time to collect your dog before our next scheduled appointment, if you are late to collect and this impacts other clients appointments you will be charged a late fee of up to £15. 

At Scruffy Pup Parlour we are willing to work with any dog that may have issues when it comes to grooming. It is your responsibility to ensure your dog is booked in as regularly as required in order to potentially help improve their behaviour.

We will always prioritise the welfare of the dog in our care and if we decide it is unsafe to continue with the service it will be stopped and you will be called for collection.

If your dog is reactive in regards to grooming please contact us before your appointment and we would be happy to advise on the best schedule and process for them, we have had many dogs show great improvement after being on a schedule that suited their needs.

We understand that sometimes situations arise that may mean you miss your appointment, however if there is no prior or immediate communication regarding a missed appointment this will be recorded as a no-show on our system and this may incur a charge of up to 50% of the missed service cost. If you no-show 3 times within 12 months we may refuse future service as this does take up appointment slots that other clients may need.
